Summary
Summary
David is in Venice for a few days on a work trip and needs to catch a city bus to a meeting outside the center. Walking back to his hotel, he spots a colourful newsstand packed with newspapers, magazines and little items, and decides to buy an all‑day bus ticket for tomorrow.
The friendly chat with the elderly seller turns the errand into a mini adventure: David adds a glossy travel magazine about Italian cities and a pack of chewing gum, listens carefully to the prices and pays in cash. When the man explains how to stamp the ticket in the yellow machine on the bus, David walks away with his plastic bag, feeling prepared for tomorrow and pleased by the small, simple connection.
