La colazione di Anna

Anna wakes up early. She opens the window and breathes the fresh air. The kitchen is quiet and bright. She puts water in the kettle. She makes coffee with her Italian moka pot. The smell of freshly made coffee makes her happy. She takes a small plate and some biscuits.

Anna sits down at the table. She drinks coffee and eats biscuits. Sometimes she eats bread with jam instead of biscuits. But today she only has biscuits and an espresso.

Her cat, Leo, looks at her from a chair. He meows softly and moves his tail. Anna laughs and talks to him. But he does not answer. He only purrs.

She pours a little milk into a small bowl. Leo jumps down and drinks. Anna finishes her breakfast and washes the cup. She puts on her jacket and her bicycle helmet. She takes her bicycle from the hallway.

She checks the brakes and the lights. She locks the door and says, “Hi, Leo!”. The cat purrs on the chair. Anna goes to work by bike.
