Summary
Summary
In his hotel room on a Friday afternoon, Leo wants to go out to dinner with a friend. Because the restaurant he has chosen is very popular, he decides to phone Ristorante La Luna to make a reservation. He feels nervous about speaking another language on the phone, but he looks up the number, takes a deep breath and calls. Step by step he answers the woman’s questions: day, time and a table for two people, and he carefully spells his full name.
Finally, Leo also gives his international phone number and the woman repeats the details of the reservation to check everything is correct. When the call ends, Leo smiles. The exchange was short and simple, but he has his table for tomorrow and, even more important, he feels proud and more confident about making phone calls in a foreign language—maybe even for a hotel booking next time.
