Weekend al Lago di Como

Tom from Breda takes a nine-hour train journey to Milan, where his French friend Michel picks him up after driving five hours from Lyon. They haven't seen each other in over a year. Michel drives them to Lake Como where they check into a hotel in Bellagio with a balcony overlooking the lake. They spend Saturday evening driving along the lake and enjoying Aperol Spritz at a local café.

Sunday morning they have breakfast on the hotel terrace before taking a boat to Isola Comacina, where they hike, have a leisurely lunch with wine, and Michel sketches while Tom skips stones. They return for dinner at the hotel restaurant by the window. Monday morning they check out, Michel drives Tom back to Milan Central Station, and Tom takes the train home to Breda, already planning next year's reunion via text message.
