Anna’s verjaardagscadeau

Anna looks for a birthday gift for a friend. She goes into a cozy bookstore. It is warm and quiet there, and it smells like new books. There are shelves full of stories. She smiles and looks around.

A shop assistant greets her. “How can I help you?”, he asks. “I am looking for a simple Dutch book for a friend; she is learning Dutch,” she says. The assistant nods.

He shows her two books. “This one is shorter. That one has pictures.” Anna opens both. She finds the first book more interesting. She points to it and decides. “I would like this book, please.” She walks with it to the cash desk and looks at the price.

She pays with her bank card. “Can you wrap it as a birthday present?”, she asks. The assistant nods and wraps it in blue paper. He puts a small ribbon around it. Anna walks outside happily, ready to surprise her friend.
