Diario de Javier

My name is Javier. I am thirty-five years old and I live in San Miguel, a small town in Spain. Here, the streets are quiet and the houses are old. I work in the town and I know many people. This is my diary. I use it to organize my day. I write what I do, what I feel, and what I want to improve.

At seven, I wake up. I hear the church bell and the birds outside. It is still a bit dark, and it is cool in the house. I stretch in bed and put my feet on the floor. I feel tired because I went to bed late last night. I drink a little water and think: today I want to be calm.

At eight, I have breakfast in the kitchen. I put a cup on the table and turn on the light. Normally I am not very hungry, but I eat something because it is important. I eat a cookie, drink a coffee, and then a glass of milk. I look through the window and see smoke from the chimneys. After breakfast, I feel more awake.

At nine, I get ready to go out. I shower quickly and put on a shirt, some trousers, a warm jacket, and some shoes. I look at the phone and take the keys. I put the wallet and a notebook in the backpack. I leave home and close the door. In the square, I greet a neighbor and a lady. I smile and walk towards work.

At ten, I arrive at work. I work in a small tourist office in town. I open the door, turn on the light, and turn on the computer. I organize the maps and the papers on the counter. A couple of tourists arrives and asks for an easy walk. I explain the route with simple words and show them the square and the street where they must go.

At eleven, I keep working, but there is a problem. I have to print a page, and the printer does not work. For a moment, I am nervous because I do not want to lose time. Then I breathe and go step by step. I check the cable and the paper, and I turn the printer off and on again. After a moment, it works. I say: good, and I feel more confident.

At twelve, I take a short break. I leave the office and go to the café in the square. I drink a coffee and a glass of water. I sit outside for a while and look at the hills. I see people talking and a child playing. I write two lines in the diary: now I feel calm. Then I go back to work.
