Entrevistas en las calles de Madrid

After saying goodbye to Laura, David keeps walking along the street. The camera stays with him. They go past shop windows, a fruit stand, and several terraces. A man is standing outside a café near the station. He has a backpack and a bottle of water in his hand. He looks busy, but kind. David walks over, greets him, and asks if he has a minute for a short interview.

“Hello. My name is David Martin, and I work for Madrid News. Today we ask simple questions about everyday life. Can you tell us your name, your age, and how you feel today?”

“My name is Miguel. I am fifty-two years old. I am from Bogota, but now I live in Madrid. I work in a bookshop near the station, so I see many people every day. Today I am a little stressed because the shop is very busy and I still have a lot of work to do. But I am also happy because I like my job. Later, I want to go home, make tea, and read for a while.”

“Working in a bookshop sounds very good. Do you like talking about books with customers? And when you are not working, what kind of books do you like to read? Do you prefer to stay at home or go out with friends?”

“Yes, I like it a lot. Some customers know exactly what they want, but others ask me for help, and I like that too. I usually read history books and detective stories. I stay at home almost every night because I end the day tired. But sometimes, on Saturdays, I meet my friends for a coffee in the center.”

“Thanks, Miguel. You seem like a very calm person, even on a day with a lot of work. I hope the afternoon is easier and that you enjoy your tea and your book later.”

In the afternoon it gets warmer and the streets are even more crowded. A few minutes later, David sees a woman near a bookshop, on a quiet street. She has a blue bag, a green jacket, and a big smile. She is waiting outside the shop and looking at the people who pass by. David comes closer and introduces himself again.
