Entrevistas en las calles de Madrid

Hello. My name is David Martin, and I work for Madrid News. Today we are out on the street doing short interviews. We want to hear simple stories from people who live in Madrid. Can you tell us a little about yourself and say how you feel today?

Of course. My name is Tatiana. I am forty-one years old. I am from Santiago, but now I live in Madrid with my husband and my son. I work at a school. My days are usually long, but I like to help children learn new things. Today I have the day off. I am a little tired, but I am fine. My classes have a lot of energy, and that makes me smile. After this interview, I want to buy bread, go home, and have dinner with my family.

What do you like most about working at a school? And when you go home after a long day, how do you relax? Do you prefer a quiet afternoon with your family, or do you like to go out for a walk?

What I like most are the children. They ask a lot of questions, and every day is different. Sometimes I finish tired, but I never get bored. At night, I like simple things. I like to have dinner with my family, help my son with homework, and sit for a few minutes with a cup of tea. Sometimes I also watch a little TV to relax.

“Thank you very much, Tatiana. It has been very nice to hear your story. Sometimes life is very busy, but small moments also make people happy.”

The day goes on and David lowers the microphone. He looks at the camera and smiles. Today he has spoken with very different people. One person starts a new job, another spends a day with a lot of work, and another thinks about his or her family and home. Each answer tells a different story. David gets ready to finish the program and make a short summary of today’s interviews.

“And here our interviews for today come to an end. Today we have heard different stories from people in Madrid. The streets are full of movement, but also of people with feelings, plans, and problems. Some people are happy, others are stressed, and others are tired but happy. The camera slowly moves away while people keep walking through the city. The buses stop and start again, coffee cups pass from hand to hand, and the voices fill the afternoon air. David looks smaller and smaller while he says goodbye to the camera.
