Une rencontre à Paris

The waiter finally brings their food. He walks so slowly. The croissant is hot. The sandwich looks good. "Enjoy your meal!" they say to each other. They start to eat. The food is delicious.

"What color is your cat?" asks Philippe. "He is black and white. Like a cow!" Marie laughs. "But he thinks that he is a dog. He fetches things!" It's unusual. "Really? What does he fetch?" Philippe is curious. "Pens! Only blue pens. I don't know why."

"Some students love art. They stay after class to paint more." Marie is proud. "Other students draw stick figures and say 'done!'" She laughs. "But it's fine. Not everyone has to be an artist." Philippe nods his head. He understands.

The waiter appears again. He moves as if he is underwater. "Do you want other drinks?" he asks slowly. Marie looks at Philippe. The afternoon is pleasant. She wants to stay. "Maybe... some wine?" she suggests. Philippe smiles. "Good idea! Wine is always a good choice in Paris after all."
