Ein gemeinsames Mittagessen

Anna sits down again. Lucy asks, “Have you found it?” Anna says, “Yes. The waiter explained it well.” They keep eating and talking. Anna tells a funny story about a bus that came late. Lucy laughs and almost drops her fork. The waiter comes back and asks if they would like dessert. They order a piece of chocolate cake and two small spoons. They share the cake and drink the rest of the lemonade.

After the cake, Lucy holds her stomach and makes a worried face. She says, “Oh no. Now I also need to go to the toilet.” She looks at Anna and asks, “Can you tell me the way?” Anna smiles and says slowly, “Along the corridor, then left, down the stairs, then the second door on the right.”

Lucy stands up and walks along the corridor. While she walks, she quietly says the words to herself. She walks along the corridor and then to the left, just like Anna. She finds the stairs and goes down. Downstairs she looks to the right. She sees the first door and then the second door.

She opens the second door on the right and smiles. “I found it,” she thinks. She goes to the toilet, washes her hands, and comes back. At the table she says, “It was easy because I heard it twice.” Anna says, “Yes. Repetition helps.” They ask for the bill, pay, and leave the restaurant. Then they go outside together and make plans for another lunch next week.
