Una bella giornata in palestra

Tom is a very active man. He is forty-five years old and he lives in a small town. He works in an office as a project manager. In his free time, he likes to move and do sports. His favourite hobbies are going by bike and going to the gym. He likes to feel strong and healthy. Every day he tries to do something active.

Today is Saturday morning. The sun comes in through the window, and Tom wakes up early. He stretches his arms and feels ready for the day. “Today I go to the gym and train my legs,” he says to himself. He has a healthy breakfast with fruit, yogurt, bread, and a protein shake. He needs energy for the workout today.

Then he prepares his gym bag. He puts his favourite sports clothes inside and feels happy. He drinks an extra cup of coffee to have energy. The gym is not far from his home. Tom goes by bike. The air is fresh and pleasant. He likes the short trip. He thinks about the exercises that he wants to do. When he arrives, he parks the bike near the door. He feels full of energy and ready to start.

Tom walks to the entrance and takes his card. He passes it through the reader, but nothing happens. He tries again, but the light becomes red. On the small screen, it says “Card not valid.” Tom is confused. “How strange,” he thinks. He knows he paid the fee last week. He tries again, but it doesn’t work.

Tom feels a bit embarrassed. Other people enter the gym. He moves to the side and looks at his phone. Maybe there is a problem with the payment? He opens his bank app, but everything seems okay. He starts to feel a bit worried. “I really want to work out today,” he says softly. Then he looks at the reception desk and decides to ask for help.

At the reception desk, a friendly employee smiles. Her name is Maria. She says, “Good morning! Can I help you?” Tom explains the problem with the card. Maria looks at the computer and types for a moment. Then she says, “Ah, I found the problem! We just need to update your account in the system.”

Tom feels relieved. Maria asks him to wait one minute. She clicks some buttons and says, “Done! Try again.” Tom goes back to the reader and swipes the card. The light turns green and the door opens. “Perfect!” he says. He thanks Maria for the help. She smiles and says, “Have a good workout!” Tom is happy again and goes in.
