Interviste per strada a Bologna

“Hello, my name is Giancarlo, and I’m with Bologna City News. Today we’re doing short street interviews. We want to hear simple stories from people in Bologna. Can you tell us a little about yourself and how you feel today?”

“Sure. My name is Manuela. I am forty-one years old and I live in Bologna with my husband and my son. I work in a school, and my days are often long, but I like helping children learn new things. Today is my day off. I feel a little tired, but in a good way. My classes are always full of energy, and that makes me smile. After this interview, I want to buy bread, go home, and have dinner with my family.”

“What do you like most about working in a school? And when you go home after a long day, how do you relax? Do you like quiet evenings with your family, or do you prefer to do something more active, like a short walk around the neighbourhood?”

“I especially like the children. They ask many questions, and every day is a little different. Sometimes I am tired, but I never get bored. In the evening, I usually like simple things. I like having dinner with my family, helping my son with his homework, and sitting quietly for a few minutes with a cup of tea. Sometimes I also watch a little television to relax.”

“Thank you very much, Manuela. It is nice to hear you talk about your day, and it is nice to know that even when life is full of things to do, small moments can still make people happy.”

As the day continues, Giancarlo lowers the microphone and looks at the camera with a smile. Today he has spoken with people whose lives are very different. One person is starting a new job, one person is having a very busy day, and one person is thinking about family and home. Every answer tells a different story. Giancarlo gets ready to finish the programme and to make a short summary of today’s interviews.

“And now we are at the end of our interviews. Today we have listened to different stories from people in Bologna. The streets are full of movement, but they are also full of people with feelings, plans, and worries. Some people feel excited, some feel stressed, and some feel tired but happy. The camera slowly moves away while people continue to walk through the city. The buses stop and set off again, coffee cups pass from hand to hand, and voices fill the warm afternoon air. Giancarlo becomes smaller and smaller in the distance while he says goodbye to the camera.
